I know I have been a bad blogger. Honestly, I have had such a great start to the year, I haven't felt the need to vent. Plus, a little more tired at the end of the days now.
I know my mommy friends have been here, but have you just ever wanted to be able to be sick? I know we get sick often, but we are never allowed to BE sick. Yesterday was awful. My allergies are terrible: My throat hurt(always fun when teaching all day), my head hurt, I was completely stuffed up. I started that lovely time of month: cramps, pimples, another reason for headache, and all around bitchiness. Plus, when I picked up my son, I pulled a muscle in my back that made breathing hurt! All I wanted to do his go home, take a bath, Nyquil, and go to bed. HA! After making dinner(and of course cleaning up dinner) to the lovely whines of my babies, Daddy tries to help by taking Mikey for a bike ride, while I took a bath. Ella didn't want to go and proceeded to climb into my bath. Daddy was home within 5 minutes because Mikey didn't want to go the way Daddy did, do he put him inside, said he was done with him, and went for a ride on his motorcycle.
I did get them to watch Dragon Tales while I laid in bed for a little while. (10 minutes) Then, they found me. As I watched Anthony Bourdain and dreamed I was in Laos with him, they wrestled, jumped on me, danced on me,....I watched the minutes on the clock.....
FINALLY!! 8:00!! Bed Time!!
Thankfully Daddy came home right at this time so as to NOT wake them back up with his bike. Plus Mikey only wants him to put him to bed. They both went to sleep without a problem and I could finally make my way to my lovely bottle of Nyquil!!
Can't remember much after that.:)
I know when the time comes that every day is quiet, I will miss them dearly. But could I maybe, for one evening, have a little taste of it?

Welcome Back?
I am soooo tired! I worked all day getting the last few things ready to start. Made sure the room was picture perfect for all the kids and parents tonight. Then, I picked up the kids, made dinner, took a shower and headed back for Open House, an hour later.
The kids are so excited to see who they sit next to, and the parents love to get those few tidbits of info out (as if I'm going to remember them). Lots of ex students come back to say "Hi" (Always the best part. I love to see them grow!)
Unfortunately, the night took a turn for the worst. One mom wanted to know who to talk to, to get her son out of my class, since she's been having problems with another boy for 4 years. I told her we have everything ready to go for the morning, so she better go talk to the big guy right away. Turns out she doesn't get along with the other boy's grandmother, and the boys have never had problems, so he told her she's out of luck. One good thing about him, is the way he talks to parents.
Two other moms wanted their daughters moved away from other boys. One because the boy told her daughter she licks boys' butts in the bathroom. (Well if she'd stop licking boys' butts we wouldn't have a problem!)
One girl's mom wanted me to be sure she takes home EVERY book, EVERY night, (about 55lbs worth), not to let her sit on her legs, no free time on the computer, write EVERY day, etc., etc. AND she'll be coming in to "help" on Wednesdays to check on all of this.
Another girl broke her right arm two days ago spinning on a computer chair, and is freaking out about not being able to write.(for 5-6 weeks!!)
Another girl was diagnosed with strep today. (Yeah! Back to a life of illnesses!!Better resupply the Airborne!)) She won't be here until Monday.
I had such high hopes this morning. Only 20 kids, no meds, but here we go again.

RIP
I'm sad to report that Dori, Dori, Dori, Dori and Dori,(the fair fish), have all gone to the big lake in the sky. Not sure what happened, they did make a record of lasting longer than a night. But one after another they went belly up. The kids are taking it very well. They enjoy watching them swirl down the toilet.:(
Oh well, I guess that's my luck right now. Ozzy(the cat) had to be left at the vet for stitches this morning, when his 2nd wound this month is apparently too slow healing. I've been taking him in every two days the last two weeks, to change his bandage. Then Dwight(other cat) didn't want to out this morning(Odd). He has a lump on his side. (infected wound?) Great!! Because I have so much time and money!!
I guess I should be thankful it's not my son!!!

4 More Days...
Well, it's almost here. Bulletin boards are up, pencils are sharpened, books are in desks. (Despite my son undoing all these things as I work!!) All I need now are all those fresh faces. I love the first week. They are still unsure of me. They are on their best behavior. They hardly talk!! It's quite nice!! Soon enough the "Mommy! Mommy! Mommy!" turns into "Mrs. Pulido! Mrs. Pulido! Mrs. Pulido!"
I'm very proud of how organized and ready I am right now. If only I could stay that way! I accepted the free, large desk calendar, as I always do, from School Stuff. (To bad it will be covered by September.) I have work copied for the first month. Names are even in my gradebook already. (Would be better if princpal would stop switching kids around days before school!)
I guess I'm as ready as I'm getting! Princess was such a great help this year. I'm so proud of the little girl she's turning into.
I did tell Hubby that the School wife he always dreads, just may be more pleasant than the Summer wife this year. Summer wife had a HARD Summer. (Not mentioning any names...boy who his on my back, hitting my head right now!)
Hubby did find a great way to wear the kids out, while not straining himself out this week. He chases them around with a remote control Jeep(Thanks Kelly!) It's fun for hours!! Plus, he doesn't have to get off the chair.
Oh well, I guess I better get the lovelies to bed. Gotta get back into routines!
